We are looking for candidates who can support the full learning cycle from design through to delivery and evaluation.

Your role will be to provide comprehensive training and support to the business enabling managers to focus on Performance Management across their teams and deliver and facilitate engaging and output-focused training courses.

You will have:

Training Officer

Due to continuous growth an experienced Learning and Development Advisor from the financial services sector is currently being sought by a specialist customer focused organisation based in Bromley.

Reporting to the Training and Development Manager you will be responsible for the full training cycle with a focus on training needs analysis for customer facing employees. You will be required to provide, assess and develop employee's knowledge using a variety of interventions. You will also be focused on design, implementation and delivery of practical training programs predominantly for head office staff.

The role

Carry out training needs analysisDesign, build and deliver training interventions to suit the training needs identified within head officeDeliver skills based training and knowledge training to suit training needs identified within head office Telephone techniques/skillsCompany product knowledge - test employee company product knowledge and changes i.e. Pension changesDelivery of regulatory/legal training in accordance with the business strategy.Dealing with ‘difficult' or ‘irate' customers, customer complaintsDeliver practical Customer services training sessions to best practice standards, through one to one or group sessions for both frontline Customer Service and other staff.

The candidate

The preferred candidate will come from a teaching / training background, (recognised teaching qualification, ideally PGCE) experienced at writing and producing lesson plans, write case studies and create scenarios.They will have good communication skills, proven ability to deliver training/courses/programmes. Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

We have to ensure (and demonstrate) that head office employees receive training which helps them to understand the rules and regulations in our business, review our industry needs and for our customer services area to receive variety of training in product knowledge, how to deal with customers, customer complaints.


You should understand have prior experience of writing and producing training plans and have a creative approach to delivery.

Purpose of Role
The L&D Officer will support service delivery through the design, implementation and delivery of practical training programmes for new and existing employees across the business and support implementation of business strategy.

Key areas of role and responsibilities:

Coordinate training plans across the business for new and existing employees;Carry out training needs analysis (TNA) as requested (by project office, line managers, senior managers and directors) and identify learning needs for roles across the business (including system builds and projects);Design, build and deliver training interventions to suit training needs identified across the business;Plan and deliver generic induction training plan(s) to new employees;Deliver skills based training (including generalist induction courses) to customer services and sales roles within the online “Express products/services” teams;Facilitate training sessions where delivery subject is not familiar (using a subject matter expert within the business team to assist with delivery and / or technical content);Deliver regulatory / legal training in accordance with business strategy (Anti-Money Laundering / Data Protection)Ensure timely and accurate general administration and record keeping of training activities on ADPDuties & Responsibilities

Implementation and Delivery:

Training Plans

To create and communicate training plans for frontline customer service team, private client services team (in-bound sales and dealing) and operations & payments (back-office) teams;

Customer Services

To deliver practical Customer Service training sessions to best practice standards (e.g. CIPD) through one-to-one or group sessions (for both frontline Customer Service and Operations based staff)

Sales (including Dealing)

To deliver generic sales training for Corporate Express and Private Client Services teams (e.g. Revenue generating teams)

Induction Training

To deliver initial induction/orientation training for all new startersTo coordinate and deliver new starter programme courses during in accordance with the agreed SLA’s To ensure all relevant training milestones and activity is completed to agreed standards

Regulatory / Legal Training

To support the delivery of AML (Anti Money Laundering) and DP (Data Protection) training and any associated regulatory training as required for different parts of the businessTo support HR with the delivery of required HR legislative training to management teams

Record Keeping

To maintain a Learner Management System (LMS) via ADP systemsTo keep timely and accurate records of all training completed

Skill and Expertise

CIPD (Certificate in Training Practice) or equivalent training qualificationPrevious experience working within the financial services sector (FS / banking / insurance / FX payments)Previous experience working for a SME within a L&D training role (delivery)Confident and articulate presentation skills / group training (up to 10 people per session)Ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to build effective relationships with team members and managementAn in depth knowledge of L&D gained through both experience and understanding of current theories

*To deliver the agreed annual training programme in line with the Training and Development strategy.
*To monitor expenditure on staff training and report to the Training Manager.
*To design, deliver and evaluate training as required both at Rehoming Centres and in the London office, working with fellow internal trainers as necessary.
*To identify appropriate external providers, specify the content of the training they are to deliver for the company and the outcomes required. Negotiate terms with suppliers and confirm these in writing. Ensure that the required training is delivered on the terms specified and within the agreed budget.
*To organize training activity in an efficient and timely manner. This will include joining instructors, travel and catering, the payment of invoices and issuing course completion certificates.
*To distribute and collate evaluation forms for all training and development activities and to analyse the data from these forms and report to the Training Manager as required.
*To maintain comprehensive records relating to all training and development activities.
*To organize regular induction training for all new starters at the London office.
*To work with colleagues in HR to share information from needs analysis related activities.
*To ensure that all training related payroll instructions are passed to HR and actioned in a timely manner.
