Role Purpose

The Senior Manager, Learning Strategy is responsible for the successful design, delivery and management of programs that facilitate continuous learning of people at all levels within the Global Markets Business Unit. He/she will work closely with business leaders, practice leads and people team members to develop a learning approach aligned with the business strategy and based on the thoughtful identification and prioritization of training requirements. This person will focus on leading a learning strategy for a highly mobile, consultative and largely millennial workforce of approximately 4,000 people.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning Strategy (30%)

Create a world class learning strategy that combines multiple delivery vehicles, services and vendorsDesign and develop learning solutions that leverage industry best practices, resonate with key stakeholders and align with the strategic plan of the Business UnitIdentify emerging trends that are impactful, inventive and relevant for a mobile workforce

Vendor Strategy (15%)

Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with and manage the performance of outside vendors and/or consultants offering specialized training and development solutionsManage vendor spend and routinely audit vendors to ensure relevance and business impact

Learning Management System Strategy (15%)

Lead the LMS Strategy, which includes evaluating the effectiveness of the current application and the best way to deliver learning solutions to a highly mobile workforceProvide strategic and operational direction to the LMS team owners around best practices, issue resolution and optimal user experience 

Budget Management & Measurement (10%)

Identify success criteria with the business prior to the development of learning solutionsManage the global learning investment / budgetReport on success of learning initiatives to business and HR leadership and tie to business objectivesProject & Team Management (30%)Provide leadership, direction and guidance to a globally distributed team of 6 peopleResolve issues and mentor team in all aspects of their growth and developmentCreate a strong global team environment and be a driver for global standards and quality outcomes 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree10+ years HR, consulting or learning & development with at least 5 years’ experience in learning3+ years of experience in managing a team

Experience

Self-starter who can develop and execute strategiesExperience in a global, matrixed organization that is ambiguous and fast pacedStrong leadership skills, executive presence and experience working and influencing business leaders to successfully drive initiatives and gain cross-functional commitment and supportStrong business acumen and integrated thinkingConsultative skills, including clarifying objectives, asking probing questions, suggesting alternative solutions, driving decisionsFlexible and proactive working style with strong personal ownership of project completion

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
