Global Learning & Development Director London base

Our client is a global leader in their field with over 10,000 colleagues working in around 100 countries worldwide. Operating in the B2B marketing services sector, this is a fast moving business, which has grown significantly through acquisition. They are midway through the process of transitioning to a new Operating Model with global products developed to serve global clients and a centre of excellence based in Europe. As a business they believe in providing their people with the best learning and development in the industry and rely on their ability to attract, grow and retain exceptional talent. This is an exciting and pivotal time to join the business.

The role will appeal to strategic L&D Professionals looking to step up into a global role. It represents a fantastic opportunity for someone with a real passion for L&D who may not be the number 1 in their current organisation but who is looking to more into a role with global scope operating at a senior level.

Personal integrity, sound judgment and values will be matched by your commitment to high standards. As well as being an L&D expert you will need to be able to operate collaboratively building on and extending the existing offer to meet business needs in line with the programme of change.  Candidates must have outstanding relationship management behaviours as well as coaching, leadership and influencing skills. A “business issues” led approach to global L&D is important, as is the ability to work in a flexible way with different cultural norms in a pacy matrix structure.

Candidates should have a first class academic background and a track record of delivery in a leading corporate brand or consulting organisation. International experience and European language skills would be helpful but not essential. The role encompasses all aspects the L&D agenda including: leadership development, blended learning, coaching, capability development, diversity & inclusion, social responsibility, career paths and the use of international assignments as a development lever.
